My son doesn't go to sleep easily. He's like me -- his mind is reluctant to rest. Most nights we read many books, followed by many songs. Lately I've had some great success soothing him with this Stephen Foster tune. I've admired this song for such a long time because of it's beauty and tranquility. I didn't realize how laden with promises and reassurances this lullaby is until I started playing it for my son.
