The Star Wars universe is largely devoid of a Robin Hood philosophy.  The Jedi do not rob from the rich and give to the poor.  Rather they seek balance and preserve a dispassionate sense of justice.  Bounty Hunters and smugglers are only in it for themselves.  One could argue that the final scene of The Last Jedi with the stable hands hints at a new rebellion in which the poor and disadvantaged will be protected but this is far from certain.

Practicum 1:  The practical Jedi is based in kindness and is unwavering in her/his defense of the weak and picked upon.  Practice kindness daily.  Simple -- not everything about this has to be mystical.
