open the door

If I look around my house I see a precocious bossy toddler who won't sleep but gives great hugs.
I see a very pregnant beautiful wife who is patient, kind and loving.
I see an aged cocker spaniel who is smelly but sweet and consistent in her naptitude.
And I feel happy.

I look around outside my house and I see a government that can't agree on jack.
I read endless fluff pieces about the plights of Dwight Howard and Kim Kardashian.
I see horrific images from Syria and Englewood.
And I feel hopeless.

I don't really drink Kool-aid any more.  But I could make a big vat and start handing it out.  If you all get in line and war together, everyone could have a sip -- grocery store sample style.
